Yup. Completely with you on everything you just said.
Cross stitcher, knitter, crocheter, newbie sewer (sewist?), game dev. Multicrafter extraordinaire!
Yup. Completely with you on everything you just said.
Coming at this from a slightly different angle, as I do use Instagram and it was responsible for helping my YT channel and therefore my business in general take off.
I’m already on Mastodon, so would have no need to use this. However, I’ve really come to despise IG and find interacting with it to be more of a chore than anything. So an option for my friends and viewers from IG to communicate with me without me having to actually log in over there? I can just stay on Mastodon and run everything from one place? Sounds fine to me!
(pending evidence of good faith as discussed elsewhere in thread)
Huh you’re right. First thought was maybe ml is down, but it doesn’t seem to be. How odd!
Subbing to all of them, contributing where I can, and seeing what happens :)
This question makes no sense because I’m British and we make literally anything sound like an insult.
It’s a part of all community URLs. Including asklemmy.
You know I’ve been recommending that link to everyone and had no idea you could actually use it to browse per-instance lol. Well done me 🤦♀️
Thanks for the heads up!
You can visit the actual instance, e.g. lemmy.world and then check out communities at the top. Not sure if there’s a better way yet, someone let me know if so!
We would love to see your knitting over at !creative@beehaw.org 😄
Yep this is the “official” one so far insofar as that’s a thing, our plan is to basically gather all crafters and creative types there for now until it becomes obvious that one type of craft is overtaking everything and should be split out.
Absolutely! Didn’t read your post as a complaint I’m just clarifying for the other commenter 🙂
The main problem with recreating /r/NFL is it relies on news from places like Twitter, and the sort of people moving to Lemmy are likely to have also left Twitter…
There you go, that should tide you over on the Elite thing at least!
Totally understandable and fine. But then you can’t complain about there being no content, that’s all.
This is all just part of being an early adopter on a platform that relies on user-generated content.
Yes I know. But there’s a couple of NFL communities already they just need more people actually making content in them
NFL exists, but it’s the same as nothing so far
Be the change!
I’m hoping for some specific craft communities, but for now it makes sense to huddle together in !creative@beehaw.org. We do love to show off pics of all our projects though so I expect it won’t be too long before it makes sense to start splitting that up.
Oh yes, I’m on Mastodon too and there was a ton of Eurovision content in there (I even ran into someone from the tag in real life in the arena, what are the chances of that?!)
But it’d be nice to eventually have a community here too for those longer discussions, that’s all 🙂
(plus interacting across the different services is still a little bit dodgy as evidenced by your tagging the OP of this thread, but I’m sure that’ll get better over time)
I mostly used RiF, but installed the official app during a trip last year to do logistics with someone who was using the built in chat.
I don’t tend to always have data on my phone, because WiFi is everywhere, and just add some when I’m going on a trip like this. I’d loaded up a fiver’s worth the morning we left, which usually sees me through an entire month in these situations.
Woke up after the first night away to an alert that my data was all used up. And on further investigation, guess which app was the culprit? Just literally sitting there overnight while I was asleep, gobbling up a month’s worth of data to do god knows what.
I uninstalled the app.
