Project West Ford seems to be missing from this plot. There ought to be a spike in 1963, representing 400 million tiny copper needles :)

What is III to accomplish?
It will be a practice run in LEO, a la Apollo 9.
When could IV fly, and will lunar descent then occur?
It’s currently NET 2028, which is the same year as the old Artemis 3. In terms of schedule, it’s like they’re inserting an “Artemis 2.5” mission, between Artemis 2 and the crewed lunar landing.

In terms of schedule though, it’s almost more like they’re inserting “Artemis 2.5” as a practice run in LEO, a la Apollo 9.
You bet I could! I’m not such a bad pilot myself. C’mon, we don’t have to sit here and—
This is the way.

And the Lord spake, saying, ‘First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once at the number three, being the third number be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.’

thousands of minisats into LEO, losing many every week
Because there is still a tenuous atmosphere at that altitude, LEO is actually somewhat self-cleaning, which is why so many satellites (including Hubble) will reenter relatively quickly unless regularly boosted, making Kessler Syndrome of low concern.
Kessler syndrome is a much more serious risk in MEO and GEO, where orbits can take decades to millenia to decay naturally.

I love how much there still is to learn about the Ice Giants in our own solar system. I wish we had a launched an orbiter 15 years ago, but I guess the next best time is now (or NET 2031).

Not audibly, but I definitely heard it in my head.

Can- can Jared secretly ship the library across the pond to Jonathan McDowell? I feel like he’d take good care of it.
Oh great, another world news community.

Oh, this is not a world news community…

GROND!

Por que no los dos?

Just a reminder that lemm.ee shut down last summer, so I’d strike that one from the list.

Are lightsabers lasers or plasma?

Amazon: The FCC says we have to launch half our constellation by next year. What rockets y’all got?
SpaceX: We’ll sell you as many Falcon 9 launches as you want!
Amazon: Haha, we wouldn’t buy launches from you unless our board forced us to! Any other offers?
Blue Origin: We have New Glenn, but it isn’t ready yet.
ULA: Best we can do is nine Atlas Vs. We have Vulcan too, but it isn’t ready yet.
Arianespace: Oui oui, nous avons une fusée pour vous.
