If I don’t take it all by November, my manager starts getting on me about it because it’s looks like he’s working me too hard. Coming from the usa, we’re I had 10 days annually, I’m finding it tricky to use all 30 here. This isn’t a complaint! Many of my colleagues take it all at once, in July, because that’s the German rules (Spain if flying, Croatia if driving). I take 6 week trips thought the year. It’s fantastic!

Gonna take a wild guess here and say that bikes are probably ok too. The stupid shit that tumbles out of the anti-car crowd is just comedy.
I figured this would be about the summer temperatures finally arriving. Moved to Germany from San Diego years ago and it’s comedy to watch them panic once it hits 85f. Parks empty, streets empty (save for ice cream stands, which practically print their own money). Germany, steadfastly refusing to acknowledge air conditioners have existed for 7 decades.
It’s as if… wait for it… they are made of sugar!

My take was to not let them in on the secret.
Newer versions of these can have par levels set for the temps and I don’t know who thinks 74f is a comfortable room temp, but no… it is not.
Fortunately, internet legends went on to explain how to put these into service mode, thereby defeating their laughable levels. Just gotta remember to put it back to their mode when you’re checking out.
But, yeah, these things fkn crank coldness. And the electric bill. And the environment.
Never been to Japan, but I came from San Diego, which has, apparently, one of the best zoos in the world. And while they do take good care of the animals (I guess…) it’s a drag to see a fkn polar bear in San Diego.
Zoos suck. Put those animals back where they belong. Or eat them.
I like to use the hand raising button and when the speaker stops to ask what I need I say “I agree”. Doesn’t matter what track the conversation was on. Just agree. At least once per meeting. Makes it worth attending.
