    They weren’t, overtly, “protesting the genocide.” They were just bringing food and medical supplies, which activity Israel has been specifically ordered by the ICJ not to interfere with.

    Of course in the current climate that counts as “protesting the genocide,” because everyone’s well aware that Israel will violate the law by blocking those shipments because starving the Palestinians until they’re all gone, all tidy, is the purpose here. And so they’re making a symbolic point by making the attempt and getting blocked, yes. But it wasn’t strictly speaking a “protest” in the same way that walking around and chanting is. It was literally just bringing food.
