I get that community engagement is good and all, but some of these posts and comments seem of questionable quality. Is this person a bot?

I’m sorry you feel this way. I’m gonna generalize quite a bit to help explain.

In regard to stimulants, they can help those that cannot do. ADHD brains are wired a bit differently and so in this case the brain could actually do with a little more stimulation. Addiction is always possible in situations where abuse is prevalent. But just think of it as kicking a ball that’s standing still. It takes more work to get it into the goal.

The reason they’re “bad” in “normal” people is because the brain is already functioning at its best. Adding stimulation here is a fast path to addiction because you’re adding stimulation that is not needed, therefore forming a dependency as the brain will think it needs to make less of its own chemicals. Here you can think of addiction as a ball that is already in motion that gets passed to the kicker and canon kicked into the goal. Here there is less work being done to get that addiction potential going.

People always assume it’s fun to be on these meds. To be honest a lot of people say they suck the absolute life out of you. I personally hate taking them, I haven’t for 6+ months. But it’s quite necessary for us to focus and get shit done.

edit: personally they’re life changing as it showed me a view on life that I had never experienced. Things were flowing as they should. No hiccups or setbacks. Eventually you get used to that new life and can taper down as you grow older.
