    I think there’s a fine line between commiseration and enablement and we should be careful not to tacitly reinforce people’s depression. I worry that this sentiment will do more harm than good. There’s a quote from Anthony Bourdain,

    “There’s a guy in my head, and all he wants to do is lay in bed all day long, smoke pot, and watch old movies and cartoons. My life is a series of strategems, to avoid, and outwit that guy”,

    that I’ve always strongly related to and I think it’s a better message than ‘bedrotting is A-OK’.

      As it says “today” not “everyday” I’m supporting the message in the cartoon and I don’t think it contradicts your quote.

      One strategy I have to outwit that guy is to give him what he wants sometimes so he doesn’t fight me.

      To offer another quote in return “Every now and then declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies”
