For myself? I dunno but it did make me feel good.

Got one of those 2 for whatever breakfast sandwiches at Burger King. Ate one then, and figured the other one was lunch.

Then I saw a “pan handler”(dunno how I feel about that term, but it’s the closest I can describe homie) on the side of an exit, sitting in a wheelchair.

Let me paint this picture for you.

I’m two to three cars back from the light. I wanted to give homie this sausage, egg, and cheese croissanwich. But he isn’t looking around, as much as down.

    The light turns green.

    I know what to do!

Two quick beeps, and he immediately looks up!

Without even slowing down the Winnebago that pulled up behind me at the red light, he grabs it and we both say “you rock” at the same time.

That was probably the most magical moment of my life…

      “pan handler”

Without knowing someone’s situation, if they’re in that position I prefer to say “down on their luck.”

I think it conveys less stigma and more compassion, personally.

I got myself a Lego bonsai tree. Hope to do 1 page a day after work. Both something to look forward to at the end of the day, and I can have a pretty desk ornament at the end of the term. (And if holiday brain can do maths right, I might even finish on my birthday, which would be extra nice)

I live close to the beach (I am 30 mins away IN a BIKE), and I literally never go.

I always feel “I could do something more productive”. I have been a whole year without going…

I really want to go this weekend :)

Self-care is essential if you want to be productive.

Self-care is also essential if you don’t want to be productive.

Taking care of yourself restores your ability to care for yourself and others. Productivity feels good especially when it benefits you and those close to you, but don’t fall into the “must be productive” mindset.

I’m going to finally make use of the Mac mini I have currently doing nothing and turn it into my Home Assistant server. Though that’s more of a nice thing for the older mini that’s currently (sort of) doing it, alongside all the other home server stuff I’m asking of it.

Me: “I’m going into a diet.”

Also me: “I’m planning scrummies for this weekend! Deep-fried okra, rollmops, preserved eggs, cheese and fruits.”

I definitively have no temperance when it comes to tempura. But you know what, I’m treating myself and my family, we’re going to eat the scrummies while drinking wine, beer, soda.
