What’s the intended use case for Pixelfed?
Instagram replacement rather than Imgur
For that there is https://catbox.moe/ and https://imgbb.com/
Pixelfed can be used as image hoster likewise, those 2 you mention are proprietary, so if one cared about that, they might prefer Pixelfed
