    thats german anglicisms for you. before smartphones we called mobile phones handys

        It depends. Handy is still pretty common and everybody will know what you are talking about. But atleast in my circles we just call them smartphones most of the time now.

        Me and all my friends all call them “Handys”.

        And to people not familar with English loanwords in German: Yes, the correct German pluralization ends with a “ys” and not as it would be correct in English: “ies”. The same is true for “Hobbys” and “Babys”, not sure if there are more.

      Yeah handy is funny and is pretty common, but walkies is just what most brits will say for a dog walk and I have no idea where else it is used so would probably suggest it is a bit niche

  6. Absolutely no NSFL content.
  7. Be nice. Don’t take anything personally. Take political debates to the appropriate communities. Take personal disagreements & arguments to private messages.
  8. No advertising, brand promotion, or guerrilla marketing.
