Woke is a brilliant and evil political manipulation tool. As a conservative politician, you never have to state a position on any topic anymore. You just say you’re against all the woke stuff and your captive idiots just assume you agree with them. They hear exactly what they want to hear.

It’s a shortcut around actually saying anything of substance. You can get two people whose agendas are completely opposed to both believe that you are on their side because they both accept that “woke” means the thing they hate. And since you just said that you hate “woke”, then you hate the same thing they do so they will support you through anything now.
The opportunity for future enshitification is the main reason I’ll never connect mine to the internet. It’s a great printer, but I don’t trust any tech companies for basically the reasons you described.
They’ll just invent new crimes. Like loitering, jaywalking, and using an open-source operating system that doesn’t forward your identity and details of your computer usage to governments and private companies.
I’ve always been in favour of tiered consumption taxes. Basic neccessities of life aren’t taxed. Sorta nice stuff gets taxed a bit. Uber lux stuff and harmful stuff gets taxed all the fucking way.
Rich fuckers have way too many ways of getting out of paying income tax. Tax the stuff instead so that you can’t live like a rich person without paying the kind of taxes rich people should be paying.
