I wouldn’t have stuck being in the threadiverse if it wasn’t for piefed. It would just be a failed third attempt to join Lemmy since the reddit APIpocalypse.

Like for example take Reddit. I’ve been in small subs that grew too big for its own good. It’s always saddening to see them being riddled with bots and scammers and little to no effort to move away from them. Some managed to police and gatekeep better, but still stuck in reddit with no plans to move away.

I would like to be the change that I want to see and bring some of the community there, to the fediverse, but I don’t think I have the mental capacity and fortitude to take that role. I’ll just content to comment here and there for now. Never say never, as they say.

The platforms changed. Thats how I see it personally. Everything went from niche forum sites to consolidated social media silos. And the culture moves at break neck speed. I graduated in 2013, and for my circle back then I was still using forum sites but did manage to make group chat groups so we can still, and do, keep in touch.

Good to know that app is still being worked on. I used it in the past until around 2024 but stopped because it haven’t had any update.

Idk I’m on two minds with this.

On the one hand, I agree that there’s too many clutter in modern UI design and it takes away precious screen real estate. Especially more so when it’s for ads (external), ads (internal), and more ads.

On the other hand, there seems to be a chronic minimalist UI movement to hide even essential controls and info into menus upon menus. The worse part is that there’s tons of whitespace so you’ll still won’t get good information density.

Samaung at least in their apps I canbtap on the number to type it instead of scrolling.

On the same vein, date pickers. Just let me type the damn date instead of having to choose on your virtual calendar.
