As a guy, I do recognise that men are disadvantaged in many areas and need to be put on equal footing with women-- like courts disproportionately award custody of children to mothers, regardless of how unfit the mother is to be a caregiver. But broadly speaking from my pespective, women are still at more disadvantage. I used to live in a bad part of my city for many years and have had little to no issues. However, it is a different story from women I spoke who got harrased, and another hit on the head. They said they will avoid going to the city ever again. I remember sharing the accounts of these women to other men, and the men were surprised because their experience is the complete opposite. Women are still seen as weak. And in the corporate hierarchy, men (of tall statures) disproportionately make up the board of directors and executive roles.

That’s the beauty of having a platform where your engagement does not matter because there are no advertisers to woo.

In my friend group, only me and my said friend still look great for our age, and perhaps because our jobs are more physically demanding. The rest of my friends have office jobs or working from home, so they do not get more physical exercise and gained weight severely. But having office jobs is not really even much of an excuse not to exercise. I work on shifts but I exercise when I get days off. To be honest, I find that too many people can be hedonistic and gets turned off by slight feeling of discomfort, which is why they don’t exercise.

You missed the part where I said it is for the readers, not the cultists. It is not about convincing these ideologues, it is to warn the readers why the ideas of these cultists are bad.

You do realise that poorer people tend to have more children, especially in developing countries? But even then, these countries are gradually developing and their population growth is also slowing down thanks to more education and growing economy. The more educated people are, the more likely they will think first and plan before having a family. Educated people also have higher social mobility with higher disposable income, and likely try to enjoy more themselves than settle down as quickly as possible. So economic factor is a consideration with the slow down on population growth, but not the way you think it does.

Just because there are outliers, it does not mean the whole trend is represented by it. That is to say, the population growth is already slowing down and may even decline after it plateaus. Education and access to contraception works.

The overall human population growth is actually slowing down and expected to plateau by 2050. Who would have thought that the more educated the population is, the less likely they are going to have tons of babies.

We can’t exactly stop shipping that is not pragmatic. That is like trying to stop air travel. What we can do is to promote alternatives where it is more practical and easier like converting to EV’s on the road, and using more renewable energy in power plants. Even if majority of CO2 consumption comes from shipping, a huge portion nevertheless comes from vehicles and electricity generation so switching to alternatives would have already made dramatic changes to reducing carbon emissions. Although, if shipping could sail on renewable energy (not that I am aware of), then that would be even better!

Globalisation is not bad, it is mismanaged. Why? There is no globally harmonised rules, policies and regulations to prevent exploitation of workers in third world countries to produce cheap products and services, compensate workers for their jobs being outsourced, prevent environmental degradation, and prevent over accumulation of wealth at the hands of miniscule amount of people. Norway can’t exactly tell Bangladesh they should pay the same wages that workers in Norway are getting.

How are those going to be resolved? A world government that implements rules and regulations uniformly; instead of dealing with different standards, regulations and policies of other countries-- or lack thereof in case of third world countries (which is why we have cheap goods because these countries offered themselves to be the world’s factory).

The world government is like the EU but on the world level. It should be able to address the unequal distribution of wealth, unequal division of labour and enviromental issues that the current lawless globalisation “order” has wreaked havoc both to humans and environment. Are you down for that kind of set up? I thought so.
