  • My dad is 59 and besides being the one that got me gaming in the first place, he still plays to this day. He is naturally not really into very competitive skill based games (esports) but MMOs or ARPGs and the like he loves those.

I built my first computer with him when I was 5. And today I’m working in an IT field, largely because of him.

He first got me started with Diablo. I’ve played DII with him, DIII too. DIV he said it’s very expensive for now and he’ll wait for a discount or something, but I did buy it. He also plays a lot of Guild Wars 2, WoW and some titan quest among other rpgs. He also plays on his phone Diablo Immortal and some other crappy time wasting games 🤷‍♂️

  • Yep! Played 2 of the dark souls games. I kinda enjoyed them but I didn’t finish either. Still felt better than Elden Ring somehow.

Also when I played elden ring the mapping was all controller based and I was playing on pc. That was weird. Had to dig through the Internet to find how to change it to KB/Mouse mapping.

For a game of that price I’d expect it to:

    1. Being default on KB/M for PC users. That’s usually the case for so games anyway.
    2. Having that sort of plug and play that detects whatever you’re using. Controller input? Alright, controller mappings show on screen. Oh, you pressed a keyboard key? Okay, KB/M mappings then.

  • Controversial opinion but I mostly hate crafting. I feel like it’s a huge time sink just to make you waste time in the game. It’s not content at all just mindless farming for no real reason.

There are games where the whole game revolves around it so you couldn’t really remove it from those games. Minecraft is an example.

But I feel like every single game now has some kind of crafting mechanics. Mainly the F2P to get some kind of weird limitation that will either take you half a lifetime to accomplish or $5…
