  • And Israeli bots (probably IDF and Pro-Israelis too)

Seriously I just discovered this. Go search any random Gaza/Palestine/Israel post you will see -50 for someone saying “Israel has killed children and should stop killing children” and like +300 for “this article is so biased it’s taking about Israeli attacks but no mention of how Hamas is the real cause of this death”.

I’m not even going to bother to link because I want people to see for themselves rather than it looking like I’m selecting the worst if it.

This just seems women are more touchy about this stuff then men.

Someone called me out on reddit for using the word girls for women and it was sexist because it is infantising, and it was stupid because they were making out I don’t call men boys. When I absoultely do, in fact I do it more than the alternative. Really the only way I was sexist on that is that I don’t do it as much as I do with men so if anything I should do it more.

But you can’t win, someone’s always going to be offended

  • I agree.

Sounds like you might want to consider quitting your job and travelling for 6 months, or go work in another country before you get too old. That’s what I did.

But back to your other point. I’m convinced 90’s and 00’s were better times. Things were easier, more free, there was more free time, there was more community. People were happier and less prone to anger you could actually joke around with people and life wasn’t so serious. Now it seems like everyone wants be a victim of something and just fuck up everyone’s lives.

Back in those days if someone couldn’t take a joke you just tell them to lighten up and have some fun. But people just want to be the victim.

  • There are some top level issues are some smaller (but no less problematic) issues underneath.

They probably need to be spoken about.

    The big two are:

Issue 1) Why should I leave, or partially leave reddit?

Issue 2) Why should I go to lemmy?

The issues I have and have heard about.

    1. Isn’t it full of tankies and trannies?

    2. Do I join lemmy.com or what? There are a load of websites which do I join? How do I join?

    3. Is there a app for this?

    4. Isn’t it dead over there?

And remember a lot more people read comments than reply to them, or even vote on them. Just because no one asked about something doesn’t mean 10 people didn’t read you comment and think. “I’m not going there because of XYZ”

Started eating a shit tonne of rice.

Losing weight really isn’t that hard. It’s calories in verses calories out. If that doesn’t work, congratulations you are breaking the laws of thermodynamics and physics is changed forever.

I just took out some higher calorie food and ate a lot more chicken and rice and the weight dropped off kinda scary fast seeing as I was eating 4 meals a day. Ended up adding extra calories with eggs and was more comfortable with sauces.

Another time I took up surfing. Fucking hell surfing is hard, running 10 miles is easier. Increased my food load and ate a crap load more protein and just changed shape in a few months, lost the fat around my tummy and my shoulders grew huge.
