I have a bunch of little Arbor Vitae trees which deer do not eat. They do however like to trample the shit out of them. So I imagine likewise, somewhere in a quiet pine forest, there are a bunch of Douglas Firs with all the branches snapped off on one side thanks to the careless meandering of a blue ox the size of a house.
