I don’t want to come off as preachy, and I love the waves of new users. I’m just concerned about the stability of the Lemmy userbase if the highest commented posts stay “I’m leaving reddit” and “things reddit did” type threads.
This is something I also need to work on aha, but it’s really important to be active in topics and activities you’re interested in outside being a (potentially former) redditor.
Happy lemming, friends!
Yep, it’s definitely gonna take some time to adjust.
I’ve setup my own community as I couldn’t find one that existed for it already, but no idea how best to actually spread the word about it.
But enjoying finding out how it all works and discovering more communities
Same
There’s a community to promote your new communities in, it’s called New Communities (funnily enough) on lemmy.world. I’m really new to this but I’ll try to link it
I think there is a good chance at the moment that people will find you. Without much map of where to go I have been searching for community names that include my interests, and I suspect other people are doing the same given the community I started has been getting subscribers and I haven’t told anyone about it!
